Bicarbonates

Bicarbonates is the carbon-dioxide source behind chemical leavening, plus a buffer and mild abrasive. We carry it within our other food ingredients line and supply it to manufacturers across the UAE, the GCC and East Africa.

It is supplied as white crystalline powder, in food / USP grade · technical grade, with an assay of 99.0–100.5%. The CAS number is 144-55-8 and the molecular formula is NaHCO3.

Applications of Bicarbonates

Common uses in production:

• Leavening in biscuits, cookies, cakes and Arabic bread
• pH buffering in beverages, dairy and animal feed
• Mild abrasive and whitening agent in toothpaste
• Flue-gas treatment, pool pH correction and cleaning formulations

Packing, storage and handling

Standard packing is 25 kg paper bag with PE liner. Store in dry storage, sealed — avoid humidity. Shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored as specified.
