EDTA-4Na

EDTA-4Na is a chelating agent that locks up metal ions which would otherwise catalyse spoilage. Gulf Multi Trading supplies it as part of our preservatives range, with material held in the UAE and backed by full batch documentation.

It is supplied as white crystalline powder or granules, in food / technical grade, 99% min, with an assay of 99.0% min. The CAS number is 64-02-8 and the molecular formula is C10H12N2Na4O8.

Applications of EDTA-4Na

Typical applications include:

• Preventing oxidation and colour loss in sauces, dressings and canned foods
• Chelating agent in detergents, soaps and personal care
• Scale and metal-ion control in water treatment and textiles
• Stabiliser in photographic and industrial processing baths

Packing, storage and handling

Standard packing is 25 kg paper bag with PE liner. Store in cool, dry conditions. Shelf life is 36 months from the date of manufacture when stored as specified.
