Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA)

Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) is the selective tertiary amine that removes H2S while slipping CO2. Gulf Multi Trading supplies it as part of our amines & derivatives range, with material held in the UAE and backed by full batch documentation.

It is supplied as clear colourless to pale yellow viscous liquid, in gas-treating grade, 99.0% min, with an assay of 99.0% min. The CAS number is 105-59-9 and the molecular formula is C5H13NO2.

Applications of Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA)

Common uses in production:

• Selective H2S removal in refinery and gas-plant amine units
• Natural gas sweetening where CO2 slip is desirable
• Formulated amine blends with piperazine for CO2 capture
• Corrosion inhibitor and chemical intermediate

Packing, storage and handling

Standard packing is 220 kg MS drum · 1000 L IBC · ISO tank. Store in cool, dry, closed containers under nitrogen. Shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored as specified.
